Red Faction: Armageddon Review – Mars Impotent Rebellion

Red Faction: Armageddon brings the multitudinous and entertaining journey of iconic planet within our solar system back to the minds of audiences everywhere from its roots of Red Faction: Guerrilla. Volition, Inc. creates a journey into Mars which is linear in fashion but focuses on storyline and fast plot twists at the root of the past rebellions that insculpted Mars into the civilization it becomes from the consequences of the defunct Earth Defense Force (EDF). The Red Faction movement is exhibiting a new golden era that situates itself into the perspicacious nature of a science fiction title equivalent to the confines of a fiction novel. The characters have history, and the planet itself has that history flowing from the pages of the dialogue. The combat at times, however, feels a little unnecessarily stale especially given the linear nature rather than a newer and more innovative open-world sandbox nature, which Volition clearly stayed far from, in hopes to make players avoid wandering a barren Mars. Mars troubles aside, Red Faction: Armageddon still makes players want to explore the future of civilization on Mars to a point.

HTC Thunderbolt 4G Review: The Majestic Lightning Of Zeus

The HTC Thunderbolt 4G gives one of the best performances of any smartphone currently available in 2011 and it seems as if the Thunderbolt has stricken the ground with an impacting force that will last well into 2012. The HTC developed Thunderbolt 4G premieres exclusively with the Verizon Wireless network, and is truly a premiere enthusiast phone that provides a lot of power and efficiency, despite being on the Android 2.2.1 base software. A 1GHz Snapdragon processor benchmarked with custom software for this phone above all others, especially the new Samsung Google Nexus S coming in close behind the Droid X2 of the same carrier through exclusive rights. The HTC Thunderbolt 4G has quality parts for a price that may be expensive for some, but parts which make the entire smartphone a shining example of true fidelity and marksmanship in the intracellular universe.

DIRT 3 Review: Failure Off The Tracks

Codemaster’s DIRT 3 makes a return to the racing tracks with more cars, more maps, and even more racing events for rally enthusiasts. While car variety is decent and the level of customizations for car styles added to an online Jam Session Party Mode remains a decent offering, DIRT 3 largely fails to do anything more different than Dirt 2 other than providing a terrible Agent mode storyline, and car selections which are handed off through an eagerly caustic and tainted experience system. DIRT 3 might take players around the track at the rally, but some will be left eager to just sit in the sidelines.

L.A. Noire Review: The Last Veridical Noir

The sun is setting in a city that is all too inhaled in the smoke of its own corruption. The warm rays paint the decadent landscape in an eerie light, where the stains of murdered blood remain rampant at night. Team Bondi’s L.A. Noire reveals the level of post-war complexity of corruption, drugs, and murder within a radiant Los Angeles setting. With a high level of detail and one of the best facial motion captures cinematic we have seen to date, L.A. Noire allows players to become a detective and truly believe that everyone has something to hide. Details, emotions, expressions, and uncertainty all make this Rockstar Games’ best crime open-world adventure and truly the best of its kind despite any small issues, with action and adventure similar to titles such as Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV.  The 1940s noir cinematic ambiance grows from the old classic Hollywood crime dramas of the golden noir age, giving L.A. Noire the gameplay that fuses together with a blend of cinema style that makes colors seem like the new black-and-white visuals of classic Hollywood.

Brink Review: The Berm Enmity

Brink is the first-person shooter culmination by Bethesda Softworks and Splash Damage that outfits players with an original concept for first-person shooter perspectives, even if that concept falls sadly too short. The dynamic balance with three different gameplay aspects combined together create a title that is truly unique through either a single-player campaign with up to 16 players for A.I., or seamless transitions to online campaign gameplay with 16-player competitive cooperative play across the brink of civil war. Whether players choose to be alone, or team up with 8 players in either of Brink’s two factions, there is always a level of cross-play and customization that makes Brink parapsychological in its essence. Brink fuses different gameplay aspects into one channel, showing that there can be not only an equality between all these different gameplay aspects, but a level of chaotic admiration that excels at player interactions. Despite this, too much chaos combined with a heavy lack of competitive variety creates a title that shows a different and darker shade of its potential originality.

MotorStorm: Apocalypse Review – Defined Chaos Unrestrained

MotorStorm: Apocalypse  brings about a defined racing experience that is undoubtedly one of the most destruction-intensive in the entire series of MotorStorm, and offers the best MotorStorm experience to date. The level of car customizations and the adrenaline action of the visual fidelity with MotorStorm: Apocalypse truly does impress in multiple ways from the decals and car thread customization to the random and almost magical feats of destruction and ridge-jumping action merged in between the level of chaos. The single-player of the campaign still has one of the most hated aspects of racers in particular to rubber-banding, While the online aspect of MotorStorm seems to have issues with certain types of modes in terms of an excitement factor, the multiplayer has truly picked up a lot of styles similar to online shooters in the form of defined infamous perks, revitalizing experience point system, and customization options similar to the campaign. MotorStorm: Apocalypse truly does create the best of the Motorstorm series, giving players a thrill for driving or biking in a world where nothing else does matter, and racing to the end of nothing is a serene concept of escape.
