AMD Delays Radeon 4800: People CRY

Wahh wahh. We got word that the Radeon 4800 series line launch was going to be delayed, and decided to check in with some people ourselves. Computex correspondents Brett Rackner for WhatIfGaming poses the following question to AMD PR after the AMD press briefing earlier today.

It is really a matter of where we want to be. We want to launch when the time is right, and that’s all we can say about it. Keep an eye on June 23rd.

OK. So it happens. But it makes sense given Nvidia’s launch strategy. The GDDR5 equipped 4870 will launch at the same time as the 4850 512MB GDDR3, and people will be waiting. Don’t worry.

I'm all about one thing: reviews that are easy to understand and make sense of.

  1. Fuck!

That should be many people’s reactions.

  2. oooo.. ouch

  3. this blows, but it makes sense the GDDR5 are launching after Nvidia. Who wants that pressure anyways ? We all know ATI will dominate though

  4. There is no…nevermind I can wait

  5. FYI, can’t wait for the review.

But I’m kind of sad at this. People need to get over it. It’s only a 4 day delay/1 week

  7. And the world blows up

  8. You people need to relax. I can’t wait for the rev either Get it out fast plz. Do like TRI-ATI 4870 X2. Droool

  9. I won’t be buying Nvidia GTX 200’s. ATI always comes out on top usually IMO. Even on launches

  10. This is kind of weird. ATI should be more confident in themselves. I am. I have a tri-ATI 3870 setup. Come on ATI…/

  11. Nvidia PR and marketing is way larger than AMD’s. They made the smart choice, even if they come out on top
