GTA IV: A Whole New World
Alright Alright. I get out. I get out.
We Own the Night
After doing whatever crimes or bad deeds you have done, make sure there is not a cop in sight. Or you’re screwed. Well, not literally. The thing is, we can’t stress it enough that everything is real. And the wanted system is less corrupt so to say. Getting 5 stars isn’t easy, nor is committing crimes since not only do people remember you for a good while of real world hours, but they’ll kick your ass if you try anything. Just in case, cops come along as they normally patrol the areas, with civilians helping by calling the appropriate 911. When they come, you better snap off the little blue/red wanted circle to avoid the cops. But here’s the thing. At first sight, I was convinced this would be annoying. I was so positive and a little bit disappointed it was like this. A little blue/red circle. “Come on!” I say out loudly to myself. No cops can patrol one man in a circle that fast unless the department is working with FBI or something. But that’s the beauty of the circle. You don’t need to use it. It’s just there as a marker point. This is extremely important. Say for instance a cop spots you and starts to approach you. Blue/red circle appears, and you can stay there and discuss the situation or bolt. Of course if you run into a corner visible to the cop’s eye, you’re still in the damn circle. And that’s the sole reason the circle is there. To aid pointing out the obvious to those people who are stuck in the past, imagining that some exploit in the alley’s code might make the A.I. blind to them. Forget it, it isn’t happening. The circle not only adjusts as you walk and the cop walks, but furthermore adjusts to other cops in the vicinity who are aware of your presence. How? Thanks to the fat Joe behind you who just radioed them to lookout. So, if you try running down the street, be prepared for another cop bursting the corner and tackling your ass down. This is no joke. If you head into the subway to try and run, they might follow you inside the train, and then you have to fight them Jason Bourne style. Watch out.
I Know I Was Speeding. But Is The Cavity Check Necessary?
You can also get into a car to start a fancy little chase down, but keep in mind that sometimes the mission chases are scripted. Developers don’t want you catching up to someone unless it’s near a certain locale, but this is very obvious. It would be weird if Little Ricky, a guy you know for several missions, happened to appear near a trash can and then a burger shack. It’s not solid, or efficient. And that’s not what we want here.
