Intel Core i7 920 Review – Nehalem Grandiose
So What’s The Deal?
The Core i7 920 is giving a new name and foothold to the LGA 1366 without the i7 965 we have even making the slightest headway into the door yet, with an incredibly great FSB for more pins in a lesser area. The Core i7 920 is by no means a “cheapo” processor, and is a great bargain for the price, but it’s really just pointless to upgrade to it with the LGA 1366 itself. It’s clearly an entry market CPU that is aiming to deliver on the next scale that has not been adopted by a lot of game developers except for a few notables: Valve, and of course Microsoft Game Studios. The prospect increases between a QX 9770 default and extreme are very small to warrant a purchase for this processor, unless it’s the most expensive one possible, which does show a lot of increase that we will begin to cover in a review later on when Intel puts out something more intense than the i7’s. For now, stick with your Quad Cores or go all the way towards the new architecture.
