It’s In The Box
The packaging for this board is incredible. Yeah yeah, we know. Get to the good stuff. The desert to a great meal. But, let’s not rush this. Let’s savor the rest of the board details until later. The box itself is beautifully made, and is simplistic of design just like the generation of Extreme processor box designs. The front is adorned by a finely placed tag stating the “Intel Extreme Series Desktop Boards,” followed by the centerpiece. Around the sea of symbols, one stands out containing the central PCB of the board, signifying an important message. It takes only a little bit of power from this board to get far. Or it could be something completely different. Any other brilliant ideas? Didn’t think so. Opening it up, the first things to spot are the provided ATA and S-ATA cables. Definitely saves a trip at night to Best Buy. Thank you Intel! Along with it comes the detailed manuals including huge motherboard layout charts, the popping new CD with all the extra provided software and free trials, a bright notice to update the BIOS from a link, and the happy go lucky shiniest back panel I/O template out there. The board itself is placed in a plastic shell and ready to be unleashed.
