Konami has promised a special PlayStation 3 for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, and thats just whats going to happen. In the latest issue of Famitsu a PS3 was revealed as the Japanese Premium Pack. This PS3 has an original steel color, referred to the Japanese as “Hagane”, and a controller of the same like-color.
In addition to getting the scoop on the PS3 bundle, Famitsu also got the first word on the pricing for the Japanese version of MGS4, due for release June 12, 2008. The standard game, which includes Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Metal Gear Online starter pack, will be priced at 8,800 yen, putting it at the higher end of PS3 titles. Fans who want the bonus content will have to pay extra. The games special edition, which includes a special colored blu-ray disc to the standard edition will cost 9,800 yen. The Premium Pack hardware bundle includes all of that in the special edition of MGS4, a PS3, and a controller detailed above, and will go for 51,800 yen. All of these prices include sales tax. More should be revealed later this week as Konami formally unveils the MGS4 packages to the Japanese Press.
As of right now Whatifgaming has no clue as to the American and Europe pricing and packaging details, but will fill all you listeners out there in as soon as we get more information. What if everybody on the PlayStation 3 where to get this title? In my opinion almost everyone on the PS3 should get this title. This is one of the hottest releases this year for the PS3! If you do not have it, then you do not have a PlayStation.
