Metal Gear Solid 4 Review: The Legacy

Enter A Masterpiece

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots Boxart

Thankfully, there’s Solid Snake who is currently on retirement, but called out by Col. Campbell to save the world from the largest threat anyone has ever faced. The future begins here. Snake is thrummed into the war zone of the Middle East as a UN PMC inspector undercover to weigh what the situation is on the vanguard. As he trots around, he needs to find and terminate Liquid Ocelot, who is the head of the five largest PMCs in the world. Getting to him is another story since he’s surrounded by female warriors known as the Beauty and the Beast Corps who appear to be half woman, half machine for one sole purpose: killing Solid Snake.

As Snake continues deeper into enemy territory by manipulating warfare circumstances that the player chooses, there is one key thing that comes up. Cellular degeneration is when the cells of the body rapidly use energy and then the body itself rapidly ages, something that doesn’t exactly help Snake. With this comes hampers of his movements usually. Luckily for him, he has many new devices and gadgets in most extroverted title in the series. Metal Gear Solid 4 expands on many features and also adds to them. Kojima not only thought out the seamless transition (the best we’ve ever seen) in terms of interface from the menu to the gameplay, but really made system mechanics integrated as a whole. The very moment your camouflage vested feet ambush the Middle East, you will completely marvel at everything you just witnessed.
