The studio is beginning an interactive department to finance games and more directly oversee their development. The major Hollywood studio is not interested in Xbox 360 or PS3 though, it is interested in casual, handheld and mobile games. Why? Because they’re way cheaper. Hollywood producers are starting to think that getting involved with games will help ensure quality game adaptation of their films. Paramount’s Sandi Isaacs stated:
This gives us a great advantage in the timely evaluation of what’s in development and could become good games, as well as working with our talent from the early stages.
Unless the film itself sucks, no one will want to play the game either way.
