Set after the events of the first iteration, Killzone 2 follows the story of an ISA Alpha squad leader named Sev through the lurid soils of the battlefield. This time, the war is taken to the planets that the Helghast take as shelter and call home, bringing about a deluge of vengeful retribution and convivial glory to camaraderie in unity. Killzone 2 plays seamlessly in our preview, and does a great job at it.
WhatIfGaming E3 ‘08: Killzone 2 Multiplayer Details
Killzone 2 is simply amazing. The single player embroils players in the shoes of ISA’s badass Sev. The graphics are detailed, the environment is immersive, and the textures are speckless as of late. So, we’re all certain and aware by now that ever since the graphical set mark of the E3 05′ trailer, Killzone 2 has come pretty close. Well, close enough to have them compared for eyes side by side.
But where does the multiplayer fit in? According to SCEA, the multiplayer will have the following modes: Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Objective-Based, and a couple of other typical shooter modes. Naturally, this rings to the immutable question of whether or not the game will follow with the evolution of multiplayer experiences. Killzone 2 will have an online co-operative experience via downloadable content. It seems that the question of whether it will be integrated in the retail version of the game itself, confirmed for a release date of March 2009, is sort-of pending. The game is close to completion, and there is still no online co-op even being developed if SCEA has anything to do about it.
But fear not, it’s looking extremely probable within months of March 2009 for this beautiful recreant show off title.
New Killzone 2 Stuff Coming! Wait..What?

With Sony attending this week’s Play.com Live event it is rumored that a lot of key titles will be making appearances. It only seems natural to believe these notions considering Sony is planning to attend.
The titles that happen to be mentioned include LittleBigPlanet, GT5 Prologue, Echochrome, and Killzone 2. Right now, it is being said that there will be Killzone 2 representation at the event. Wait what does this mean: “Killzone 2 representaion?” A new revised trailer?! PS3 owners: freak the fuck out! Ah! Maybe we shouldn’t get carried away since it is not confirmed if it will be something new or just a rehashed version, but it does give PS3 owners something to look forward to.
The event is currently scheduled to take place between March 15/16. But, on a different note: there has been some suspense building up with the new feature on Killzone.com, which has officially joined forces with the PlayStation Network. According to their website, they’re expecting everyone to link their profiles with their PSN accounts as well. With the recent confirmation of the Official Ps3 Forums profiles being linked with their PSN accounts due to Home possibly having a public beta released sometime this month, it only adds to the speculation that perhaps something is coming shortly for Killzone as well. Does this mean a Killzone beta? What if all this reminds us of the whole Resistance fiasco where it links your stats up to your profile? Should all the latest happenings bring joy to the eyes of PS3 owners? Or just false hope? Guess we’ll have to wait and see!
