WhatIfGaming’s Best of E3 2011 Awards

Best Console Game:
BioShock: Infinite

Developer: Irrational Games
Publisher: Take-Two Interactive, Inc.

BioShock: Infinite and developer Irrational Games is ready to create something unique and original. Just on first sight of the massive environment alone (through the running behind-closed-doors PC preview), there is an incredible level of depth and poise that was completely missing in BioShock 2. BioShock: Infinite is one title that everyone must simply play or at least get a chance to experience once in their lives whether it is on PC, Xbox 360, or the PlayStation 3.

Best PC Game:
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is not only the Best PC Game on its own merit of standing in terms of being one of the few main faceted titles on the PC, but also one where there will no doubt be an incredible level of modifications and high resolution texture packs that will carry this version of the game on the PC leagues above what the consoles will have to offer it in terms of gameplay.

Best MMO:
Star Wars: The Old Republic

Developer: BioWare/LucasArts
Publisher: Electronic Arts

While Star Wars: The Old Republic seems to have that “grind element” still there in terms of killer Feral Raiders on the edge of a planet, it does something completely unique in terms of Exploration, Story, Combat, and Adventure. Every character gets his/her own ship, the storyline is indistinguishably similar to the game mechanics from Knights of The Old Republic I and II, and the levels of skill trees along with group choices makes Star Wars: The Old Republic a title that we will no doubt make part of a constant editorial column when it releases.

I'm all about one thing: reviews that are easy to understand and make sense of.
