Starbreeze Studios revealed Payday 3’s 2023 release window back in January. Since then, we’ve had a gameplay trailer and a confirmed release date. But now, a couple of months before the release, 18 minutes of Payday 3 gameplay footage has surfaced on the internet.

Leaked Payday 3 Footage Showcases a Heist in Progress

Just a few hours ago, a Youtuber uploaded 18 minutes of raw footage from Payday 3, but it has been made private since then. However, you can still see the footage here. Although payday 3 isn’t as graphically intensive as today’s AAA titles, it gets a massive upgrade from its last entry.

It currently runs using the power of Unreal Engine 4 but has been planned to be upgraded to UE5 at some point after launch. As for the gameplay mechanics, the title looks quite similar to its prequels. As reminiscent as Payday 3 is of its predecessors, it looks fresh with improved graphics, mechanics, and AI.

The Payday 3 gameplay shows a heist in progress. You have to take hostages, turn off alarms, and encounter the law-enforcing agencies as you perform the heist. This is pretty standard Payday stuff that we’ve grown to love over so many years. Polished mechanics and weapons can be clearly seen in the gameplay.

It should be noted that this is leaked footage, so it could be running an unfinalized version of the game. Therefore we will only be able to tell how the final version performs when it comes out. Payday 3 comes out on September 21, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and will be available from day 1 on Game Pass.
