Guerrilla Games has confirmed that an online co-op set in the Horizon universe is in the works. Multiple job listings for the online game were posted on the website indicating the online project. Later on, the Life at Guerilla Twitter account confirmed the listings for the online projects as well as the single-player and external ones. This could mean that we will get to witness more of Aloy’s adventures.
The Twitter post mentioned that the game will have ”a new cast of characters and a unique stylized look”. Players will also be able to explore the world of Horizon together with friends. This might imply that the game will feature a different type of art than the mainline Horizon games. Previously it was reported that a Horizon multiplayer game along with a Zero Dawn PS5 remaster was in the works. So, with this official confirmation, fans can rejoice a the prospect of returning to the game’s world, this time with their friends.
Horizon Online Game: The Details
The job listings also gave us hints of what players could expect in the online Horizon game. The job description for Lead Combat Designer mentioned a ”variety of enemies, both machines and humanoid, and a variety of combat systems” to be present in the game. It also mentioned there will be multiple playable characters in the game. It is likely, we will be able to choose from a certain number of characters with their own skill set and abilities.
Guerilla Games has recently revealed the Burning Shores DLC for Horizon Forbidden West. The game is coming exclusively to PS5 on April 19, 2023. So, with these projects, it seems Gueriall has its hands full. We will have to wait and see what they come up with.
