A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem will act as a direct sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game has been directed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Entertainment. The first entry in the series was critically acclaimed by the fans. Except for a couple of loose ends, the game was a masterpiece, especially in terms of storytelling.

The sequel was announced by Asobo Studio back in 2021 at E3. We got our first detailed look at the game earlier this year. And now finally we have a brand new story trailer.

A Plague Tale: Requiem Story Trailer

Although the world pretty much turned normal again when siblings Amicia and Hugo stop the rat plague, that doesn’t seem the case in the sequel. The trailer begins with things looking grueling for the siblings once again. Here is the complete story trailer:

The rat plague seems to be overtaking once again and this time spreading. The siblings must go to an island where they can get Hugo fixed for good this time. But things won’t turn out as smoothly, as we can see in the trailer.

The description of the videos reads:

'As Amicia and Hugo set out to find a mysterious island in the hope of ending the curse which runs through Hugo’s blood, they find themselves having to rely on the help of the people they meet. Walking into foreign territory, the young De Runes are unlikely to make it alone… but how much trust can they place in strangers? The answer seems as uncertain as the island is beautiful and terrifying.'

More about the Game

A Plague Tale: Requiem seems to have gained a much-needed overhaul graphically (compared to the last game) as it looks simply stunning. There were a few issues in the last game that revolved around game physics and general gameplay. We really hope Asobo has fixed them with the sequel.

Moreover, the developers recently revealed the game length has been increased. While the original Plage Tale was around 10½ hours, this time the game will take 15 to 18 hours to complete. This was something fans really wanted and it’s pleasant to see that Asobo’s listening.

A Plague Tale: Requiem will be out on October 18, 2022. It is available for pre-order and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass on Day 1 of its release.
