The much reliable Billbil-kun has revealed a Quake II enhanced edition is coming soon. Originally released in 1997, the title was much loved by fans. Later a version that enhanced the game with ray tracing was revealed but the graphics style was still pretty much dated. But now, it is supposedly getting a major overhaul to meet modern requirements.
Quake II Enhanced Edition will be Revealed at QuakeCon 2023
The leaker has gotten their hands on GRAC and ESRB evaluations that title the game ‘Quake II’ without a remastered tag. Rather some documents use the word ‘Enhanced’. The documents have also revealed the announcement details and platforms.
Quake II will be announced officially at QuakeCon 2023. The event will take from August 10 to August 13, 2023. However, according to the report, the announcement will take place either on August 10th or 11th. In addition, the game will be available on multiple platforms including PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This will be great news for gamers who are still on older-gen consoles.
Even better news is that Quake II will be published by Bethesda Softworks which means that it’ll likely be available on Game Pass from day 1 according to Dealabs. A definite release date hasn’t been leaked but the news of the enhanced edition will surely delight the fans of the series.
