Despite being only a few days since the PlayStation Showcase, rumors have started that another is planned for later this year. The much-anticipated showcase was underwhelming for quite a lot of fans. While the gameplay reveal of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was certainly thrilling, that was mostly it from the stream.
A Second PlayStation Showcase Planned for 2023?
Colin Moriarty, a famous insider, on the recent episode of Iron Lords Podcast revealed this information. While fans weren’t thrilled about it, the PlayStation Showcase did have it’s moments. The announcement of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and Spider-Man 2 gameplay were the highlights of the show. Moreover, gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Alan Wake 2 was also shown.
Moriarty stated:
I’ve heard from people that i know and it’s clearly pretty obvious that there will be another showcase later in the year. I assume it’ll be focused on some of these games that are rattling around.
So, if the Showcase indeed happens it’ll likely be around the rumored games. TLOU Multiplayer and Silent Hill 2 Remake were heavily anticipated and fans were really disappointed not to find them at the Showcase. And considering the underwhelming response it received, another showcase would make a lot of sense.
However, while Moriarty is a very reliable guy, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. The showcase happened just a few days ago and the news about another one already seems a little fishy.
