Back in September, Ubisoft revealed a bunch of Assassin’s Creed titles releasing in the upcoming years. One of those titles was Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, the first ever AC open-world game on Mobile. A teaser trailer at today’s Ubisoft Forward has finally revealed a first look at the new Assassin’s Creed title. And interestingly, it takes the franchise to ancient China.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade is Set in China

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade takes the franchise to ancient China. This isn’t the first time AC is set in China, 2015’s Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China as the name indicates was also set in the region. However, this is a mobile game, unlike Chronicles. The teaser trailer gives a brief look at the beautiful new world. You can watch the trailer below:

As for a mobile game, the graphics look quite good. Also, notable is that it will be a free-to-play game so we’re getting all this gameplay completely free. A whole lot of Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade leaked online in December 2022, this falls in line with the setting and gameplay.

The game will follow Xia, the adopted son of the emperor Wei Yu, as he travels through China and its many landmarks. The Great Wall of China is also a POI. The title also features for the first time, a completely customizable character. The brief mix of gameplay and cutscenes also validates Ubisoft’s claim of ‘Console-like quality’ on mobile phones. And this is indeed a step in the right direction for mobile gaming.

The title releases on IOS and Android, but no release frame has been revealed. A closed beta will soon begin and you can find more about it on the official website.
