Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the latest entry in Ubisoft’s critically acclaimed franchise. The trailer for the game only gave us a rough 2023 release schedule. However, Insider-Gaming has provided a definite release window and the game is currently slated for an August 2023 release.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Release Frame
According to Insider-Gaming’s sources, Ubisoft is currently planning to launch Assassin’s Creed Mirage in August 2023. But it should be noted that the date, for now, is tentative and is subject to change. Furthermore, it has also been revealed that the August release happened as a result of a delay, the game was tipped for an even early release in 2023. Also, the game has now been internally delayed twice. As for why the game was delayed, no solid reason was provided to Insider-Gaming.
The source reckons that the delays could be a result of Assassin’s Creed Mirage releasing on both old and current-gen hardware. Making a title optimized for old-gen consoles has its limitations. It also takes a great lot of work and when not done correctly it turns out to be a disaster. We actually have seen instances of this issue with games released this year.
Updated on Other Assassin’s Creed Games
Insider Gaming has also provided updates on the other two Assassin’s Creed games in development. Project Red and Hexe. Project Red is reportedly having issues with development, which could be due to employees leaving because of abuse allegations in September.
Unlike Project Red, Project Hexe’s development seems to be going strong. It has received overwhelming positivity during its proof-of-concept stages and could start full production soon. As for their release date, Project Red aims 2024, and Project Hexe has a 2026 release window. Because Red is facing issues, it is highly likely it could be pushed to 2025.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a few months away at this point. But, if you wish to see how the story sets up, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s final DLC just dropped, which brings Roshan to the game and sets up Mirage. Mirage will be the next main storyline game and will take the franchise back to its roots. According to the current release date, it will also be the first mainline that isn’t launching in the holidays.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We currently only have a CGI trailer for the game.
