The upcoming action RPG by Chinese developer Game Science Interactive Technology, Black Myth: Wukong just got a release date announcement. The trailer is in the form of a short film to celebrate the Chinese new year. But the exciting part is the end of the film has revealed a release frame for Black Myth: Wukong, slated for a Summer 2024 release.
Summer 2024 Release Frame for Black Myth: Wukong
The announcement has been made in the form of a stop-motion video labeled ‘Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit’ for the Chinese new year celebration. While the short film itself has been animated beautifully, it also drops a summer 2024 release for Black Myth: Wukong. The idea to reveal the release date like this is quite non-generic and we are loving the concept.
At the end of the film, we can also see that PC has currently been listed as the title’s only platform. However, the release is still more than a year away, so we might see an announcement for consoles later. 2023 is already a cluttered year for games, so a 2024 release already gives us something to look forward to for the next year. And it honestly will be better for the developers as well.
About the Title
Black Myth: Wukong has been developed by Game Science who are more known for their indie titles. The game is based on a classic 16th-century Chinese Novel ‘Journey to the West’. The action RPG takes a lot of inspiration from games like Demon’s Soul as the gameplay is souls-like. An 8-minute gameplay trailer from Nvidia showed us what to expect from the title. The trailer showed impressive gameplay that hyped a lot of gamers.
For now, PC is the only known platform for the title. A summer 2024 release window has now been revealed but we don’t have a solid release date as of yet. The expectations from the game are quite high and we hope it can deliver them.
