With the announcement of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision has released some crucial information on the campaign and multiplayer modes of the upcoming game. As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, Activision has mentioned new and innovative features coming to its premier FPS title in November.
MW3 Campaign and Multiplayer Features
As mentioned by Activision, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign will be a continuation of the storyline from MWII, with Task Force 141, led by Captain Price, facing off against Vladimir Makarov. A crucial addition to the campaign is that it features open-combat missions, which means players will be more free to complete the missions. It gives players more choices to complete the missions than ever before. Players can utilize night-vision goggles and silenced weapons for a covert approach or use additional armor for a more direct one. The environments will also provide them to complete the missions from various angles.
The multiplayer mode will see 16 classic maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 returning in Modern Warfare 3. All of these have been modernized with new modes and gameplay features. In addition, 12 all-new core 6v6 maps will also be available at launch. As well as legacy modes, a new 3v3v3 mode called Cutthroat will also be available. A new position called Tac-Stance, which is the middle-ground between hip-fire and ADS, will help players in aggressive situations as well as provide dynamicity. Create-A-Class is also more evolved, with players having more customization freedom in creating their perfect soldiers. In addition, all of the maps players own from Modern Warfare 2 will carry over to Modern Warfare 3.
In addition, Zombies return to the game with an open-world PVE approach containing a new story, features, and more. The open beta for the game has also been announced.
