Call of Duty Modern Warfare II

The Call of Duty franchise is probably the grandest first-person shooting game in the world. So, naturally, when a Call of Duty game is near release, the hype around it is really high. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is all set to release this year and there is a surprise for Steam users.

For the last few CoD games, Steam hadn’t been the chosen platform by Activision. Earlier we reported that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will indeed be the game with which the franchise will be revived on Steam. And now finally we have the official Steam listing for the pre-purchase of the game.

After almost 5 years Call of Duty franchise is returning to Steam. The last game listed on Steam was 2017’s Call of Duty World War 2. This could be a vital financial move from Activision as previously all news games were listed solely on their own Battle.net launcher.

So spreading the games across different platforms could provide the franchise with the boost it wanted as the previous recent entries haven’t gotten the same amount of love as their predecessors. And undoubtedly this move will generate Activision the revenue they are looking for.

More About The Game

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will take a different route from the previous entries and focus more on water mechanics. Players are able to dive into the water to escape gunfights, with the water becoming murkier the deeper you go, impacting visibility. Water seems to affect bullet velocity and damage, too.

Moreover, some older fan-favorite characters will be making a return too. The list includes Captain Price, Ghost, and Soap. We already know that the game will feature a conflict in Iraq and Iran and transition between both to provide a more Modern Warfare like experience that the fans cherish.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is all set to launch on October 28, 2022, with its own version of Warzone later down the line (November 16) and has priced at a whopping $69.99. Although this isn’t much of a letdown factor as most of the games these days are sharing the same price tag.
