Mega Man used to be one of the most popular video game franchises back in the day. While it hasn’t been updated for a new mainline entry since 2018’s Mega Man 11, a new Capcom Q&A document regarding the annual meeting of shareholders suggests that new Mega Man games might be coming in the future.

Capcom is Considering Approaches for New Mega Man Games

The official document asks about the future of the Mega Man franchise. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection was released in April and has sold over 1 million units proving that the franchise is still very much relevant. Capcom has stated:

Including Mega Man 11, the latest entry in the franchise, Mega Man is one of Capcom’s historic
IPs and is loved by fans, and as such we want to take care in how we develop the series. We are considering how to approach the production of new entries in the series, which requires numerous factors, including the development of a solid concept, ideas and gameplay, etc

For the fans of the older games, we have some good news too. Capcom is also addressing approaches to port their older games including addressing technical issues. The official numbers also reveal that Mega Man is one of the company’s most successful series only after Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter.
