CD Projekt RED has finally revealed that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty releases on September 26, 2023. The much-awaited only DLC for Cyberpunk was announced back in September 2022 at the Night City Broadcast. Last month, CDPR revealed that that expansion will be showcased at the SGF 2023 as a part of the Xbox Showcase, and it’s finally here.

Phantom Liberty Releases in September with An Action-Packed Story

Phantom Liberty brings the players to a brand new playable area called Dogtown located in Night City. The legendary Idris Alba is also a part of the game, also returning is Keanu Reeves. The new trailer shows the expansion is fully action-packed. Moreover, the plot feels exciting too. You can watch the trailer below:

According to the official description of the expansion:

Phantom Liberty is an upcoming spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Return as cyber-enhanced mercenary V and embark on a high-stakes mission of espionage and intrigue to save the NUSA President. In the dangerous district of Dogtown, you must forge alliances within a web of shattered loyalties and sinister political machinations.

The most notable omission from the Phantom Liberty expansion is the last-gen consoles. While the vanilla title was released on all platforms, the expansion will only release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Skipping last-gen could mean way better optimizations which unfortunately wasn’t the case with the base game.

Also, CDPR has a really good record with expansions. The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone are some of the finest DLCs out there and we hope they can do the same with CP2077.
