Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 DLC has been rumored for quite a while now. Ever since the original game came out in 2020, fans have been speculating when CD Projekt RED will drop the much-awaited expansion. CDPR has finally dropped a teaser for Cyberpunk 2077’s expansion that will drop in 2023.

Night City broadcast today has brought a bunch of new information on the game including news about the DLC which you can see below:

What will the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC be About?

According to the official announcement, the expansion pack will bring back Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand. There will also be some new characters that can be seen in the teaser. The credits in the trailer read:

'Get ready for Phantom Liberty — a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in an all-new district of Night City'

This indicated that the plot will revolve around spying although not much has been revealed about the actual plot. CDPR’s director has stated that they have done something entirely different with the plot this time and it will be really fun. The DLC will be released in 2023 though a solid release date hasn’t been disclosed. The DLC will only be available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series x, and S, and PC.

There have been reported that Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiple DLCs. There could be further announcements in the future but for now, Phantom Liberty is one that will be launched next year.

Update: CDPR has confirmed that Phantom Liberty is the only expansion they are working on for Cyberpunk 2077.

More Updates on CyberPunk 2077

Edgerunners Update

Tuesday’s Night City broadcast also announced Edgerunners update for the game which will go live today. It connects to the upcoming September 13 release of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series on Netflix.

Patch 1.6 Update for Older Consoles

CDPR’s director also announced a final major update for the older generation consoles i.e version 1.6. The update will be a major overhaul to the cop system and car combat. I will offer a brand new perspective on the game. The feature had been requested by fans for quite some time now.

Though 1.6 will be the last major update, there will be smaller updates both on the PS4 and Xbox One that will primarily focus on keeping the gameplay smooth and bug-free. Moving from that all the news updates will be featured on the next-gen consoles as well as PC.

  • Hi, you state above “There have been reported that Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiple DLCs. “; do you have a citation or source for this? I can’t seem to find anything except for what Nowakowski stated:

‘We decided to develop one major expansion for Cyberpunk, which is going to take advantage of all the capabilities of the new-gen consoles.’

I mean, I would love it if there were more dlc’s for 2077, it’s just that I can’t find any official supporting information that CDPR will pursue that.

    • Hey!

You are correct; CDPR has actually been upfront about this being the only existing piece of expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. We have fixed it in the article.

Thank you so much for pointing it out.
