Dead Island 2 has been in development for quite some time now. The game completely disappeared for a while and suddenly resurfaced with a 2023 release frame. The development of the zombie game has been quite unfortunate hitting certain roadblocks. And Dead Island 2 has been delayed yet again.

Dead Island 2 Delayed Again

Dead Island 2 was originally supposed to launch from 2014 to 2015. But it saw many delays and even lost its developers. But, later it was assured that the game is still in development and will launch in 2023. However, now it has faced another delay, but it seems this would be the last one.

The previously announced release date was February 3, 2023, which is a month already cluttered with games. But now the 12 weeks delay will see Dead Island 2 launch on April 28, 2023. The studio claims that there is nothing major, they just want to polish the game before releasing it. According to their team:

The irony of delaying Dead Island 2 is not lost on us, and we are as disappointed as you undoubtedly are. The delay is just 12 short weeks and development is on the final straight now; we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game we’re proud to launch. For those of you who’ve been waiting for years, thank you for hanging in there with us.

Moreover, a new trailer along with some of the gameplay will be showcased on December 6, through a Dead Island 2 showcase stream on Twitch. The original Dead Island came out in 2011 and considering how long it’s been, it’s about time we get the next one. Although it’s disappointing for the fans, the delay here is completely understood. It’s always better to delay a game rather than launch in an unfinished state.

Dead Island 2 drops on April 28, 2023, according to the new release date. It will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
