In a recent interview with LeoEdit, Norman Reedus has inadvertently confirmed the presence of Death Stranding 2. Reedus, who plays the protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, was asked about his different works which included Death Stranding. He responds, ”We just started the second one.” This all but confirms the presence of a Death Stranding sequel and that it is in early development.
Death Stranding 2: When Is It Coming?
The only piece of verifiable information we have at this time regarding Death Stranding 2 is Norman Reedus’s confirmation of its existence. Though this is not the first time Reedus had us wondering about a sequel. In 2020, Reedus was in negotiations with Kojima Productions, the developers of the game, for a second Death Stranding, according to another interview. At the time, though, it was not apparent whether or not it was for a sequel or the Director’s Cut version. It might be that he indeed was referring to Death Stranding 2.
Moreover, Kojima has hinted that he is working on a new AAA game. He says everyone can enjoy the game they are working on. It is unknown whether he was referring to the second installment of Death Stranding or to something else different. Additionally, Kojima Productions has initiated operations at a brand-new film and television studio.
After Reedus’ interview, Kojima may have acknowledged the existence of Death Stranding 2 with a cryptic tweet as well. He tweeted several images of himself with Reedus, with the caption ”Go to your private room, my friend”. The private room in question might refer to the ones in Death Stranding that players can visit.
Whatever Kojima Productions is creating will definitely be very creative and unique like the very first Death Stranding. It received positive reviews at its launch in 2020. The Director’s Cut version for PS5 was launched in September 2021.
