Arkane Studio’s Deathloop was a title that everyone had high hopes for, and it pretty much delivered just that. The game, at the time of release, was a PlayStation 5 exclusive. However, it was a timed-exclusive, and it was only a matter of time before it was released on Xbox as well. Now, Deathloop has been announced for Game Pass as well.
Deathloop on the Xbox Game Pass
This is primarily due to the fact that Arkane’s parent company Bethesda Studios is now owned by Microsoft. So, technically that makes Deathloop a Microsoft game now. There were already rumors that the game would soon be coming to the Xbox Game Pass. Recently a Reddit user also spotted an advertisement for the game on the Xbox store dashboard.
Today, finally, the exclusivity has come to a halt, and we will finally have Deathloop on the Xbox Game Pass on the 20th of September. The game was present on PC before, but now Xbox users will be able to play Arkane’s first-person assassination game.
Deathloop launches with a brand new loadout of content – including an extended ending DLC.
The plot of the Game
Colt, the main character of Deathloop, is a time-looped assassin who has been given the assignment to murder eight Visionaries on the island by midnight because if he leaves even one alive, the time loop would reset and reverse his work. As in Arkane’s other Dishonored and Prey games, the player moves through the game environment using a combination of stealth, parkour, attack skills, weapons, gadgets, and abilities.
Each day in Deathloop is broken down into four periods: Morning, Noon, Afternoon, and Evening. Time moves forward as you go across the island’s four districts: Updaam, Karl’s Bay, Fristad Rock, and The Complex. The time loop in Deathloop isn’t strictly timed; instead, it’s designed to offer players more flexibility and time to take out these eight targets in a single loop.
The game has generally received great reviews from critics and players all around the world. It had a few bugs and random crashes that were later fixed. Now Xbox players will have the chance to delve into the time loop and manage to break free from it. The game will be available on both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus on September 20, 2022.
