Bungie has revealed a brand new expansion for Destiny 2 called The Final Shape. The expansion will complete the saga that began with the game’s first expansion. Bungie has also revealed a thrilling CGI trailer that tells the story behind the expansion.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Expansion Revealed

The expansion comes out on February 27, 2024. Bungie has also detailed plans to replace the game’s current season-based structure with an episode-based one. In addition, they’ve also revealed the time frame from which the episodes of The Final Shape will play out. You can watch the trailer here:

According to the official description:

The Final Shape looms—a nightmarish calcification of reality into the Witness’s twisted design. Embark on a perilous journey into the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and end the War of Light and Darkness.

Destiny 2 Will Now Feature a New Episode Based System

Each Episode will contain new story content and rewards, including a new Exotic mission, Exotic weapon, and armor. Episodes will be split into three Acts, with a new Act releasing every six weeks, containing new stories, quests, activities, weapons, artifact mods, pass ranks, and rewards.

Echoes, Revnant, and Hersey will be the first three episodes with each having 3 acts. Despite being more than 6 years old at this point, Destiny 2’s popularity is still intact thanks to the constant support by the devs.
