Dying Light 2 was launched in 2022 by developers Techland. It was a sequel to the original Dying Light released in 2015. At the time of the announcement, there were no DLCs with the sequel. Techland later announced that the game would get a DLC later.
Developers first announced the DLC ‘Bloody Ties’ would release in June 2022, but later it was pushed to October. However, today according to an official announcement the DLC is getting further delayed by two months and will now release in November.
Dying Light DLC is Delayed again
The official announcement came in today and the developers stated:
'We have taken the decision to postpone the launch of Bloody Ties until November 10th, to allow the team extra time to polish and squash bugs.'
They have further said that they will reveal more details about the DLC this Friday. A Discord link has also been dropped along with the announcement through which players can ask questions that will be answered in Friday’s Q/A session.
It’s a really strange move as yet again the DLC has been delayed though not by much time. But we have learned what happens to a game when you launch it before it’s in a finished state. Though they can be later fixed with updates, that’s no excuse for releasing an unfinished game.
More about the DLC
Bloody ties DLC was leaked before it was even announced. A data mine revealed that a glaidoator-themed story DLC would soon be arriving with Dying Light 2. The DLC has of course been titled ‘Bloody Ties’.
A story trailer dropped last month revealing a lot about the game. The data mine came out to be true as it is based on a Gladiator theme. You can see the trailer here:
The description for the DLC reads:
'In Bloody Ties, players will embark on a new story adventure, you will reach the epicenter of death, wealth, and absolute splendor in a stunning location; The Carnage Hall. This old opera building is full of challenges and quests, surprising new weapon types, character interactions, and discoveries to uncover.'
Moreover, players who pre-order the DLC will get access to the Aristocrat Pack, which includes an exclusive weapon and outfit. Techland also announced that they would be supporting the game for the next 5 years with added content. So, that means we can expect more DLCs and expansion packs in the future as well.
Dying Light 2 DLC ‘Bloody Ties’ is set to release on November 10 (if there aren’t any more delays). It will be available on all the platforms that Dying Light 2 is available on.
