The release date for EA Sports FC 24 has apparently been leaked online. Well-known leaker billbil-kun has leaked the release date for the football game on Dealabs. According to them, the worldwide release for EA Sports FC 24 is September 29 this year. The game will have Standard and Ultimate Editions, with the Ultimate Edition owners getting one-week early access on September 22.
EA Sports FC 24 is EA‘s first mainline football without the FIFA branding following the game company’s split with the international football governing body. This ends a thirty years relationship that started with FIFA International Soccer in 1993 and ended with FIFA 23, released in 2022. EA announced in May 2022 that it would release its mainline football game under the EA Sports FC branding, indicating its relationship with FIFA had ended.
FIFA had reportedly asked EA to pay $1 billion every four years to use the FIFA branding after its branding deal expires at the end of 2022. Like previous titles, the leagues, teams, players, and likenesses will stay the same in EA’s upcoming football game, as the company still holds the licenses. As such, it won’t affect the gameplay experience of players.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino responded by saying that FIFA was working with various third-party studios and publishers to release their own line of football games.
