Fall Guys Going Free To Play: A Wise Choice?

Fall Guys first burst onto the scene when it was available as a free game only for Playstation Plus members. After that, it was available for $20 in all the stores. The game became hugely popular due to its lighthearted and fun content mixed with enjoyable gameplay. It was also praised for its unique and fresh take on the battle royale genre. Its popularity reached its peak during the COVID pandemic but soon started to diminish with the easing of lockdown restrictions by 2021. Still, the game had a loyal and dedicated fan base that compelled the developers to release a bunch of updates.

With the game going free to play the popularity of Fall Guys can help in bringing new players to it. The game has launched its ‘new’ Season 1 and has a Season Pass with a 100-tier progression that features various costumes and emotes. The game will feature 7 new rounds including Hex a Ring and Volleyfall. There is also a mention of one secret round that will be announced later on. Options for voice chat along with Weekly and Marathon challenges have also been introduced. The full patch notes can be read here.

The game also features crossplay as well as cross-progression which is a huge plus. An in-game currency called Show Bucks has also been introduced that can be used to buy the Season Pass.
