Final Fantasy XVI: What We Know So Far
Final Fantasy XVI is the sixteenth mainline entry in the titular series and will release on the Playstation 5. The game will also release for Windows after its timed exclusivity with Playstation ends. Naoki Yoshida, who is the producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV is leading the charge in this game as well.
A trailer detailing the game’s world, characters, and lore was released to the public in December 2020. After that, there hasn’t been that much solid information about the game. In July 2021, Yoshida stated that the storyline of Final Fantasy XVI along with voicework was in its finishing stages. But by December 2021, he announced that COVID-19 caused a delay to the game’s development by half a year. Since then, details revealed during the crossover Livestream are the only solid information about the game.
We can surely expect the new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI to debut within the coming months. After that, we probably will see a release date set for later this year or early 2023.
