Embracer group has released its financial report from October to December 2022. The report announces that there are five Lord of the Rings games in development under Embracer. While the report doesn’t reveal much about the titles, they will release on multiple platforms including PC, consoles, and even mobile phones.

Five Lord of the Rings Games Launching Next Year

According to the official report:

For Freemode, this acquisition has generated a lot of interest among both internal and external partners for the Lord of the Rings IP, across different media formats. There are currently five games in production by external partners, to be released in financial year 2023/24

Interestingly, five titles in the tenure of almost 1 or 2 years is a lot. According to Embracer Investor, It could be that the licensing of the games began before the Middle-Earth acquisition deal took place. But even then so many games in such a short period doesn’t guarantee a lot of quality. However, we shouldn’t be quick to judge as maybe LOTR projects turn out amazing.

Considering the titles will release even on mobile devices, they might not be AAA. According to what we’ve heard or seen so far, the scope might not be that big and they turn out to be smaller titles. However, we have no solid information on any of these at all, so everything at this point is pure speculation. At this point, we don’t even know the developers. So, it’s better to wait and watch what they have in store for us.
