God Of War Ragnarok has recently been rated by South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee. This might suggest that the game is near completion and we could see a release this year. Previously, the game was set to launch in 2021 but was delayed to Summer 2022.
It’s possible that the release date will be moved up now that the rating has been revealed. As a point of reference, the ratings for two other PlayStation 4 exclusives, namely Horizon: Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part II, were given less than four months before their respective releases. With the rating, we could see the game get a release between September and November this year.
God Of War Ragnarok: Release This Year?
There haven’t been a lot of updates on God Of Ragnarok this year. This made fans of the series worry that the game might not see a release this year. Responding to all the speculation during the four-year anniversary of the 2018 game, Cory Barlog, the creative director at Santa Monica Studios, gave an update saying the company is working hard on the game.
He added, “We are perfectionists. Everyone’s tightening up the graphics on level three, there is so much going on right now that I just wish that we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to be shown”.
The God Of War game released in 2018 was a direct continuation of Kratos’s story from the first three games. But this time, the game was based on Norse Mythology instead of Greek Mythology. We were also introduced to his son, Atreus the game, who also possessed god-like powers. God Of War Ragnarok is a sequel to the 2018 game and will focus on Ragnarok, a mythical event that will bring about the end of days and the death of a number of Norse Gods.
