In the recent PlayStation State of Play, a new story trailer for God of War: Ragnarok was revealed. The trailer gave us a glimpse of the overall plot of Ragnarok and also showed Kratos and Atreus in action.
The gameplay showed the father-son duo interacting with various characters including the Goddess Freya. It also showed Kratos engaging in fights with Valkyries, Knights, and many other creatures. Towards the end of the three-minute trailer, a small sneak peek of the battle between Kratos and Thor was shown.
All the gameplay and cinematics were captured on the Playstation 5 which speaks volumes about the console’s capacity. A special edition controller was also announced during the State of Play as well.
God of War Ragnarok: Ever So Close To Launch
God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to the 2018 game. That God Of War game featured a continuation of Kratos’s storyline from the first three games.
The game was based on Norse Mythology instead of Greek Mythology this time. In addition that, we were introduced to his son, Atreus the game, who has godlike abilities.
In Ragnarok, the focus is on the titular legendary event of Ragnarok, which will bring the end of the gods and ultimately the world. It is one of the key events in Norse Mythology in which the new games take place.
Before its release date was announced, there was a lot of speculation on whether the game would even come out this year. Santa Monica Studios had been relatively silent in their approach up until the announcement.
Then finally, in July we got a release date as well as information of the Collector’s Edition. God of War: Ragnarok is set for release on November 9 on the Playstation 4 and 5. With this new story trailer, it’s pretty evident that Sony and Santa Monica are hyping up the game for its release in less than two months.
