Two new modes have been added to Gotham Knights as a free update. The update includes the Heroic Assault mode and the Showdown mode.
In addition to this, a trailer was accompanied to show the modes as well.
Heroic Assault Mode Details
The Heroic Assault mode groups four players together in co-op to fight various kinds of enemies in an arena-like environment. Moreover, this mode is also separate from the main story. In this mode, players will defeat enemies and complete specific objectives on each of the 30 floors of the arena. In addition to that, known villains in this mode are Starro as well as Man-Bat who the players will have to take down together. This mode will be accessible to players after completing Case File 05 of the main story.
The four-player mode was wanted by players during the launch of Gotham Knights but it wasn’t added. It was then confirmed it would be added post-launch. Now they can enjoy the game in its full glory with all of its main characters.
Showdown Mode Details
Showdown is a two-player co-op mode where players will be able to take on much stronger versions of the villains they have faced in the main story. This includes Harley Quinn, Clayface, and Mr.Freeze. Defeating these bosses will give players legendary blueprints as well as a unique suit and Batcycle colorways. Moreover, the Showdown mode in Gotham Knights will be available for players when they defeat each villain initially in the Case Files.

Previously it was announced that Gotham Knights would run at 30 frames per second on the current-gen consoles- the Xbox One X|S and the PlayStation 5. This wasn’t well received by fans and they had hoped that it would be fixed via a new update along with the four-player mode. But, it seems that they will be getting the four-player and two-player modes for now.
