Hades 2 was recently announced at this year’s The Game Awards by SuperGiant Games. The game is a sequel to the much-loved roguelite game, Hades. Supergiant has announced that the game is currently in development. In addition to that, a trailer was accompanied by an announcement that showcased aspects of the game’s story.

Hades 2 Details

Hades 2 features a female protagonist, Melinoe, who is called the Princess of the Underworld and also the sister of Zagreus. In the trailer, we see her training with a masked individual. Later, it is revealed that their main objective is to kill Chronos, the God of time in Greek Mythology. The game is mentioned to take place after the events of the first game. It is unsure whether we will see Zagreus in this, but it looks like Melinoe will serve as a great protagonist herself.

As MelinoĆ«, the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you’ll explore a bigger, deeper mythic world, vanquishing the Titan’s forces with the full might of Olympus behind you, in a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment”, it is said about the game. Moreover, Hades 2 will also feature new locations, challenges, and upgraded systems as well.

The game is Supergiant’s fifth game and their first-ever sequel. Regarding Hades II, they say in a blog post:

”In Hades II, you’ll battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery as you take on the sinister Titan of Time in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.”
