Kojima Productions head Hideo Kojima hopes to reveal his new game in 2023 through a recent video message on Youtube. The short video message was to commemorate the 7th anniversary of his studio Kojima Productions. There, Kojima also mentions what the studio is working on and mentions ”a completely new game” he hopes to reveal.
In addition to DS2, we are also preparing a completely new game as well as some visual projects. I am hoping to bring you more information on all of these next year.

What is Kojima Productions’ ”Completely” New Game?
There are two possible candidates for Hideo Kojima’s new game could be. One is the horror game called ”Overdose” and the other is the cloud-based Xbox project. Some footage of Overdose was leaked back in November which featured actress Margaret Qualley in a blue dress. Qualley previously appeared in Kojima’s Death Stranding as the character Mama. While we don’t know much of the plot or other aspects of Overdose, it is unlikely that it would be a ”completely” new game since it is likely to be a standard third-person horror title.
This is where the new cloud-based Xbox project proves to be more authentic to Kojima’s message. Back in June, during the Xbox Bethesda showcase, Kojima officially revealed he is teaming up with Xbox Game Studio to make this new project.
“There is a game I have always wanted to make. It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it.’‘, Kojima explained back then. So, it is highly likely that this could-based Xbox project is what he was referring to in the new video message.
Kojima Productions officially announced Death Stranding 2 via a new trailer during this year’s The Game Award. The game will feature the returning cast of Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, and Troy Baker as well as Elle Fanning and Shioli Kutsuna as new additions.
