Square Enix and Disney have announced Kingdom Hearts IV and said that it is currently in early development. A press release on their site mentioned all the details regarding the development of the new installment. This was also revealed during the 20th Anniversary of the franchise in Tokyo, Japan. An announcement trailer was also released later on showcasing the world of Kingdom Hearts IV.
Kingdom Hearts Missing Link is also going to release for iOS and Android devices in the 20th Anniversary event. Regarding the new titles, Kingdom Hearts Brand Manager Ichiro Hazama said, “We’re thrilled to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary with the announcement of two new KINGDOM HEARTS titles”.
Kingdom Hearts IV: What To Expect?
In the announcement trailer, a new storyline titled ‘The Lost Master Arc’ is shown in which the events of the game will take place. Then Sora faces off in a gigantic boss battle in a beautifully designed city called the Quadratum set in a realistic open world. This type of world design is completely new in the Kingdom Hearts series. Fan-favorite characters including Donald and Goofy are also making a return. Along with that, a new mysterious character called Strelitzia also makes an appearance towards the end.
We all can expect Square Enix and Disney to keep their promises in making Kingdom hearts IV a truly amazing game. The overall reception to the game by fans of the series has been promising so far. Nana Gadd, Director of Walt Disney Games says “This glimpse into Sora’s next adventure is just the beginning – we can’t wait to show more when the time is right.” So, we can surely expect more news regarding the development of the game later on.
