Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name Details

Not much is known about the plot of Like a Dragon Gaiden other than that it takes place in the Summer of 2018. The game takes place between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and the recently announced Like a Dragon 8. Kazuma Kiryu returns in this prequel as the protagonist after his sudden disappearance from Yakuza 6 where it seems that he faked his death.

Like a Dragon Gaiden will be half the size of the Like a Dragon 8 according to Ryu Ga Gotoku. Moreover, it will feature the well-known side activities available in the previous Yakuza games with Kiryu as well. Although not much about the location of the game there is a high chance that it will take place in a new setting.

Like a Dragon Gaiden is not the only game in the Yakuza series to be announced recently. Like a Dragon 8 was also announced which will feature Kiryu along with Yakuza: Like a Dragon protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga. They will apparently be co-protagonists of this game which will release in 2024.

The release date for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is set for 2023 and will release on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
