Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco have just announced Little Nightmares III at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The announcement was made via a trailer which showed off the two new playable characters in the dark world filled with different kinds of horrors. The tagline for the trailer read: ”Are you ready to return to the Nowhere, little ones? This time, face your childhood fears together.”
With two new characters, it looks like the puzzle platformer can be played as single-player as well as multiplayer.
Little Nightmares III Revealed
Little Nightmares III is scheduled for release in 2024 according to the announcement trailer. Although, Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games haven’t announced a specific window for the puzzle platformer. Unlike the first two games, Tarsier Studios will not be co-developing the game alongside Supermassive Games with the latter taking full reigns of the development. After the former’s acquisition by the Embracer Group, the studio decided to not continue working on the series.
The first Little Nightmares was released back in 2017 to critical acclaim. Four years later in 2021, Little Nightmares II also received universal praise. We can anticipate more information to be revealed about the game later on including its story and mechanics.
