The open-world experience according to the devs has ‘evolved’, and we can see that quite clearly from the map size. The city is now almost double the size with Queens and Brooklyn now a part of NYC. Some iconic spots like Peter’s old stomping ground at Midtown High and Miles’ Brooklyn Vision Academy have also been added.

A new traversal has also been added in the form of the iconic web wings. The combination of web-swinging and web wings lets you traverse the city at great speeds. The switch between Miles and Peter will also be almost seamless thanks to the SSD speeds of the PS5.

Exploration is also a main focus for the sequel. There will be visual cues for new activities and missions that will unlock with the story progression. New AI tech will also let the Spider-Men see new activities much more easily. Some missions are specific to each Spider-Man while in others you can choose between either.
