It seems like forever since we got the reveal trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Some recent developments hinted that the title might feature co-op. However, Insomniac Games has confirmed that the title will be single-player only.
Insomniac Games Confirm Spider-Man 2 Will be Single Player Only
The news about co-op started when Miles Morales voice actor Nadji Jeter teased some new information hinting at a probable co-op. But Insomniac quickly shot down the rumors by replying to a Twitter user.
So Spider-Man 2 is going to be a solely single-player title. While including co-op would’ve been interesting, keeping it away from any multiplayer aspect certainly means that the developers have had to do lesser work so better optimizations. However, maybe Insomniac has a co-op mode planned for the future and it just won’t be available at the time of release.
Moreover, in the interview where Jeter discussed co-op, he revealed some more stuff too. As spotted in a ResetERA thread, the actor revealed that ‘There will be symbiotes everywhere’ when asked if Miles becomes affected or not. This hints that we might be seeing a symbiote version of either of the Spider-Man(s) as well. He also revealed how Miles will have an even more advanced skillset from the previous title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated for a release in Fall 2023. It is undoubtedly the most exciting release of the year. The upcoming PlayStation showcase might be the day we get our very first look at the gameplay along with an exact release date.
