Konami has confirmed Metal Gear Solid Master Collection resolutions on all platforms. Fans will be relieved to hear that all the platforms except the Nintendo Switch support 1080p at 60 FPS. This latest development by Konami was a result of various reports stating that the collection would max out at 720p.

1080p Resolution Confirmed for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection

In a statement to IGN, Konami cleared out the rumors suggesting a 720p max resolution. According to the report Metal Gear Solid Master Collection will feature the following resolutions:

  • PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC: 1080p at 60 FPS
  • Nintendo Switch (Handheld): 720p at 30 FPS
  • Nintendo Switch (Docked): 1080p at 30 FPS

While it is great to hear that 1080p will be the default resolution on most platforms, 4K is notably missing. Apart from that, the MGS Master Collection doesn’t have ultra-wide support as well. The titles are mostly straight ports, and we were hoping for a few more bells and whistles. Any notable upscaling or modern hardware support is missing and that could be a major drawback for many gamers.

While the missing 4K resolution will bother current-gen users, the users of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be delighted about the 1080p resolution.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1 Release Date

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC on October 24th.
