It seems that more details of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage have been leaked before its full reveal on September 10. As before, Youtuber j0nathan is the person who has revealed key details about the latest Assassin’s Creed game.

According to j0nathan, Baghdad will be the only city in the game for players to explore. But, the city will seemingly be divided into four districts or zones and will feature its own distinct boss. There will also be deserts, oases, and rivers but whether they would be explorable hasn’t been confirmed.

Assassin abilities and weapons like throwing knives and hiding spots will be available in Mirage. In addition to that, there would be a lot of NPCs in the streets on a scale similar to the one in Assassin’s Creed: Unity. There will also be parkour elements like using lanterns to swing around corners and poles to reach distant buildings as well.

From this, it may seem like Ubisoft will be bringing back notable features of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. But, Unity was plagued with performance issues at launch for which it received mixed reviews.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage Details

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is reportedly set in Baghdad, Iran during the late 9th century. This time, the game will feature Basim, a prominent character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft is adopting a ‘back to basics’ approach with Assassin’s Creed Mirage taking inspiration from the first game.

Various RPG elements would be removed from Mirage as well. This includes dialogue choices and the leveling system. Abilities like the Eagle Vision will also return and will feature alongside the drone bird. The Eagle Vision was last featured in Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate before being replaced by the drone bird feature from Origins onwards. More details about Mirage will be revealed during the Ubisoft Forward that is scheduled for September 10.
