After much waiting, Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay is finally here. Revealed at the Summer Game Fest today, the extended look at the gameplay shows all the action coming with MK1. The trailer showcases some of the most fan-favorite characters including Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, and others.

Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay is everything we expected. It has all the fatalities, all the blood, and everything that makes a Mortal Kombat game. Beloved characters from the franchise make a return. Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Raiden to name some of them. Additionally, MK1 is set in a new timeline spawned from the ending of Mortal Kombat 11. You can watch the gameplay below:

Fighting has always been the main selling point behind Mortal Kombat games, but in MK1 the plot looks really interesting too. Lord Liu Kang seems on a mission to gather as many champions as he can. There are also elements of humor in the title making it even more interesting.

The gameplay looks absolutely incredible and shows how far we’ve come. Mortal Kombat 1 is surely a step towards evolution for the franchise and we are all for it. It also seems to have taken the more dark and gritty approach of the last title and made it more colorful making the animations look even better.

Mortal Kombat 1 is all set to release on September 19, 2023, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
