Multiversus had been in open beta since it came out. While the game had its flaws, it received some excellent reviews from both the players and critics. Adding some wonderful selections of characters from various Warner Bros. Entertainment franchises, the title had them all against each other in an epic brawler. Now, Player First games have announced that they’re ending the open beta soon.
MultiVersus Full Launch Set for Early 2024
The developers have announced that the Multiversus open beta ends on June 25, 2023, after almost a year from launch. They further stated that they know a lot of work is needed on the game till the final version, therefore the game will be offline till the full launch. The full launch is being targeted for early 2024.
According to Tony Huynn, the game’s director:
We know there’s still a lot of work to do. As a result, we have a clearer view of what we need to focus on, specifically the content cadence of new characters, maps and modes to give you more ways to enjoy the game, along with updated netcode and more matchmaking improvements. We’ll also be reworking the progression system based on your feedback and looking at new ways for you to connect with your friends in the game.
As for the state of the game, Multiversus post open beta won’t be available in online mode at all. Players will have limited access to the training rooms (Offline), and local matches, along with access to their characters and cosmetic items within these modes. And all the items you own will be moved to the full game. So, for those who have spent money on Multiversus, you won’t lose access to your stuff.
