Need for Speed Unbound is the latest entry coming our way in EA’s critically acclaimed racing franchise. The hype for Unbound is real with all its new gameplay aspects and the return of the franchise’s roots with street racing. Today, EA dropped a new trailer showcasing the speed race gameplay.
Need for Speed Unbound – Speed Race Gameplay
The new trailer gives us a first in-depth look at the new Speed Race events that will be a part of the game. The events will include a variety of stuff including meetups and side bets. The trailer also shows more of the new fictional Lakeshore city with its skyscrapers and bridges and much more as we can see in the trailer.
The Custom Mercedes 190E and The Anime Artwork
The main focus of the trailer is the beautiful custom Mercedes 190 E. We can see the car drifting and racing through the streets with that amazing Anime artwork called ‘The Tags’. The artwork is also a highlight of the trailer as we can see it changes with your action. In a part of the trailer, we can see the artwork turns into wings around the car when you jump off a ramp and much more.
Side Betting System
We also get a look at the new side betting system. In the Street Race menu, we can challenge different racers and whoever wins the race wins the bet and the betting amount. The amount of money you can bet will be different depending on how hard the challenge is. So, say you are racing an ‘S tier’ racer the amount will be the highest.
Moreover, the trailer also shows the cops in action. Although it doesn’t show how aggressive the cops are compared to NFS Heat, the game will feature new escape mechanics with underground places to lay low and reduce the heat on you. You can read more about the game here.
Need for Speed Unbound seems to be turning into a real hype machine. The game also features famous rapper A$AP Rocky, and so for his fans, the in-game music is going to be legit good. The game from what we’ve seen so far takes everything good about NFS Heat and capitalizes on it. And considering Heat was a success, this is expected to walk the same lines. Need for Speed Unbound launches on December 2, 2022. It can be pre-ordered on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
