Assassins Creed is undoubtedly one of the biggest franchises in the video game industry. The series was brought to life in 2007 with the original Assassins Creed and the latest entry being 2020’s AC: Valhalla.

There were reports of a new Assassin’s Creed in the works. Also, Ubisoft announced that they will be having a showcase in September to reveal the future of the AC series. With September almost here, we already have some latest news on the new Assassin’s Creed.

New Assassin’s Creed Project

Rebs Gaming, a widely-acclaimed leaker recently highlighted information from a Youtuber Jonathan, who revealed new stuff about the future Assassin’s Creed game. The information has been further validated by industry insider and reporter Jason Schreier who endorsed the Tweet.

Details About Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Firstly the game will be termed Assassin’s Creed Mirage as Bloomberg already reported a bit ago. The setting of the game also seems really interesting. There were already many rumors that a Baghdad setting is incoming and it has finally been confirmed now. The game will be set in a very early era from 860 to 870.

The map seems to be a big one too (like most previous AC editions). There will be multiple cities to explore. Basim, one of the antagonists from AC Valhalla will be the main character. We will be a part of his journey as a young man. There will also be an exploration of how Loki manifested Basim’s body and made him what he is now.

There is no denying that the recent Assassin’s Creed games haven’t gone as well with the players as the older ones. Thankfully, we are going to get back the original Assassin’s Creed experience as the game will be more basic and adapt the gameplay from the Assassin’s Creed one. It will also give up on the leveling system that was in AC Origins and Valhalla. Also, the game has given up on the RPG aspect and consists of lesser choices to make.

Assassin’s Creed 1 is Getting a Remake

There are also reports that the original Assassin’s Creed is getting a remake. The game will be based on the mechanics of the latest entry and will drop a few months after AC Mirage. The remake will be a part of the Season’s pass that will drop along with a DLC for the new game.

Though Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed this information, most of it is pretty much confirmed at this stage. We really hope that Ubisoft indeed comes forward and confirm the game this September, Also, it would be an added bonus if we get an exact release date too. Currently, the game is slated for a Spring 2023 release frame.
