Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s latest offering that adds to their typical genre of games. As the developers update the game, it looks like ray-tracing support could soon be coming to the game. Some other new additions could also include 2 new maps as a part of a DLC for the game.

Elden Ring New Update to Add New Content

Lance Mcdonald recently Tweeted some files from the game that indicate new content. The most prominent of which the raytracing support. Despite the game being already visually breathtaking, ray tracing could take it to the next level. The ray-traced shadows, reflections, and illumination are always a feast for your eyes when done properly.

The files show some of the ray tracing aspects. When you turn it on, the performance settings will be locked. We know ray tracing takes a real toll on the performance, so to optimize it for better performance, settings will be locked. Moreover, you won’t be able to turn ray tracing on and off during the gameplay. You will have to go to the title screen to access the setting.

Mcdonald’s has also stated that the new update also adds a reference to two maps that are currently not present in the game. This hints at two new maps coming to the game, which could possibly be a part of a DLC. Earlier this year, we reported a data mine that revealed a possible DLC for Elden Ring in the future. It seems like the next update will be when we finally see it coming to the game.

It should be noted that there hasn’t been anything official by FromSoftware itself, so currently, all this is speculation and rumors. If the news is indeed true, we hope the developers announce it soon with the update. Till then, stay tuned for further updates.

Elden Ring became one of the biggest launches on Steam and continued to smash records. Even now, it has a ton of concurrent players. The game can be played on PlayStation 4, and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
