PSVR 2: 24 Confirmed Titles Announced

With the PlayStation VR 2 headset edging closer to its release, a list of launch titles has been revealed. 24 games have been announced as confirmed titles for the PSVR 2. The list was announced at CES 2023 which happened yesterday, and the list has a rich list of returning games paired with some new entries to older titles on the PSVR, which make sit for a great launch lineup for the system.

The following is the list of all 24 titles (Courtesy of PlayStation Game Size):

  3. Gran Turismo 7
  4. Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition
  5. Demeo
  6. Cities: VR – Enhanced Edition
  7. Cosmonious High
  8. The Light Brigade
  9. Zenith: The Last City
  10. Tentacular
  11. Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue
  12. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR
  13. No Man’s Sky
  14. Moss
  15. Moss: Book II
  16. Swordsman VR
  17. Kayak VR: Mirage
  18. Kizuna AI: Touch the Beat!
  19. The Tale of Onogoro
  20. Fantasvision 202X
  21. Altair Breaker
  22. Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate
  23. Song In The Smoke: Rekindled

The list includes some familiar and brand-new games. Sony revealed in their PlayStation podcast that the PSVR 2 will not feature backward compatibility. Eliminating the compatibility was necessary because the new headset is supposed to deliver a next-gen VR experience. However, existing owners of certain titles will get a free upgrade for the PlayStation VR 2.

PSVR 2 Specifications and Release Date

Physically the PlayStation VR 2 isn’t drastically different than the original. However, it does follow a color scheme similar to the PlayStation 5 and comes with new, upgraded controllers. The controllers are a massive step-up as well as they now come with haptics and adap[tive triggers like the PS5 controller.

Sony claims that the PSVR 2 will provide a next-gen VR experience. The headset will aim for 4K resolution and offer 120Hz in supported titles to make it even better.

The PlayStation VR2 is now available for pre-order at a price of $549.99. It launches in around a month and a half from now on February 22, 2023. With such a big roster of titles available at the launch, the PSVR 2 is shaping up to be a nice package. Although more can only be said once tested. You can read more about the PSVR 2 here.
